Double degree FM&MSE

Do you wish to get a degree from a university that produces graduates who, according to the criteria of employability of graduates for top global positions take third place?
A unique international Master study programme Economics and finance offered by the Faculty of Management and the Moscow School of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow  State University, leads to a double degree: a degree from the University of Primorska and a degree from the Lomonosov Moscow  State University – one of the most desirable and prestigious degrees.

 

Applications and enrolment
  • The candidate submits an application for enrolment online on the e-VS website and sends the attachments to Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management.
  • The student office sends the candidate an application form for the Lomonosov Moscow  State University, a compulsory attachment to the application for enrolment is a translation of the diploma into Russian and the legalization of the diploma – apostille. Please check well in advance how to obtain the apostille in your country as this is country specific.
  • The examination of analytical skills in economics and mathematics will take place:
    – for candidates in the 1st application period on 7 September 2017 at 5 pm at Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management (Koper, Trg Brolo 12, room B4). 
    – for candidates in the 2nd application period on 22 September 2017 at 3:30 pm at Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management (Koper, Cankarjeva 5, conference room).
    The examination for students in Russia enrolled directly at Lomonosov Moscow  State University will take place in Moscow.
  • Enrolment in the double degree program is possible only in the case of enrolment in part-time studies in English language at Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management or directly at Lomonosov Moscow  State University. A candidates enrolled in the master’s degree Economics and finance in Slovenian language can not obtain a double degree.

 

Specifics for the program delivery
  • Student completes 1st year at Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management in Koper and 2nd year at Moscow School of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow.
  • The academic year in Koper begins on October 1, and the academic year at the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow begins on September 1. Lectures and tutorials are expected to take place in the morning and afternoon.
  • Tuition fee for the 1st year is paid to UP FM on the basis of the invoice issued and the tuition fee for the 2nd year is paid to the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
  • During the course of studies at UP FM (1st year), the rules and internal acts of the Universitiy of Primorska and Faculty of management apply, the rules and internal acts of the Lomonosov Moscow  State University (2nd year) apply during the studies at the Lomonosov Moscow  State University.
  • The student must have completed all the obligations of the first year (60 ECTS) for the promotion to the second year at the Lomonosov Moscow State University before leaving for the Lomonosov Moscow  State University.
  • If the student fails to complete all the obligations for enrollment in the second year of studies, the student will fulfil the missing obligations in the subsequent year (year two) at Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management and will continue the second year of studies at the Lomonosov Moscow State University in year three.
  • The student can withdraw from the double degree program at his own request and continue studying 2nd year at Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management and obtain the Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management degree. In this case, 45 ECTS is required for promotion to the 2nd year.

 

Completion of studies
  • Students prepare their master thesis in English at during their 2nd year of studies at the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
  • The master thesis is written under the supervision (mentor and co-mentor) teachers from both universities.
  • The defence of the thesis will take place in Moscow in front of a joint commission of Lomonosov Moscow State University and Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management.
  • In order to complete the studies at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, students need to pass the Final State Exam in addition to obligations from the curriculum, the exam takes place at the end of the second year in Moscow.
  • Upon completion of all obligations students receive two diplomas, one from Universitiy of Primorska, Faculty of management and one from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
