Matjaž Novak graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Maribor (2002: Empirical analysis of the aggregate production function of the Slovenian economy), he obtained a master's degree from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana (2004: The impact of sectoral reallocation of the workforce on the nature of economic growth in Slovenia), and a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana (2007: Frontiers of real convergence of transition economy). He has been employed at the Faculty of Management of the University of Primorska since 2003. During this time, he was also the chairman of the supervisory board of the company Geoplin (2011-2014), in the 2012-2013 mandate he was employed in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia as an adviser to the Prime Minister for the economy , from 2014 to 2021 he was the dean of the Faculty of Management of the University of Primorska for eight years, since 2017 he has been the director of the Branch of the M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in Koper (Zavod Lomonosov Koper). Prof. dr. Matjaž Novak teaches economics at the Faculty of Management, and as a researcher he mainly deals with productivity analyzes at the microeconomic (microeconomic aspects of productivity management) and macroeconomic levels (theory and analysis of economic growth).Education
