Content
Course purpose
- The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with the content of macroeconomic theory and to train them to understand and independently conduct basic macroeconomic analyses.
Content (Syllabus outline):
- Definition of macroeconomics, problems, goals, basic macroeconomics aggregates.
- Aggregate supply and aggregate demand.
- Consumption, saving, investments, government consumption, net exports.
- Analysis of relationships between basic macroeconomic aggregates (multiplier model, inflation, Phillips curve, etc.).
- Labour market and theory of unemployment.
- Money (monetary policy), money function, quantity and velocity of money, demand and supply of money, banking system and money creation, money market.
- Public finances and fiscal policy.
