Course purpose
The purpose of the course is to make students aware of the importance of cultural differences in the business environment, and to help them build intercultural competence.
Content (Syllabus outline)
Students are expected to improve their knowledge of the socio-cultural level of the modern Italian language in areas essential for international business communication:
- specifics of informal and formal communication in the business environment of the Italy
Pragma-linguistic specifics of business Italian.
Presentation of one’s own
culture and understanding other cultures in the business environment in
Italy:
- intercultural relations in Italy
- intercultural competence development
- appropriate attitude to otherness
- understanding of interculturalism
- pragmatics of intercultural communication
