Course purpose
- The goal of this course is to acquire basic knowledge about the international economic arrangament, about the sources and principles of international trade law, about the functioning of the WTO and the dispute resolution mechanisms. The goal is understanding about the effect of international and regional trade agreements and about the development of regional integrations, such as the EU. The goals is to understand the opportunities for the Slovene companies in the EU and the WTO.

- Sources of international business law
- Legal aspects of economic integration and of the processes of globalisation and europeanisation
- Development of international trade from GATT to the WTO
- Basic rules and principles of international trade
- The WTO mechanisms of trade disputes resolution, the most important decisions
- European integration as an example of regional economic integration
- Basic principles and economic freedoms in the EU, the most important ECJ decisions
- Trade agreements amongst the most important trade actors
- International economic and legal framework for Slovene
companies
