Course purpose

To teach students about the effects of organizational structures and interpersonal processes on the behaviour of employees and organization as a whole, especially its effectiveness, efficiency and overall business success.

Content (Syllabus outline)

  • Introduction to organizational behaviour: fundamental concepts and theories
  • Individuals within organizations: theoretical and conceptual explanations of individual attitudes, values, personality, emotions, motivation and decision-making process
  • Group processes (dynamic) within organizations: theoretical and conceptual explanations of group processes with emphasis on teamwork, leadership, communications, power and conflicts at workplace
  • Organizational dynamics with emphasis on theoretical explanation of stress, reconciliation of work and family life, change management and organizational culture
