The development of urban areas is different from 40 years ago. The problem that is a challenge for the project is that there is too much car traffic in Slovenia, which causes environmental pollution, has a sedentary mode of mobility, traffic jams and related stress, a large consumption of resources, such as energy and taking up space (roads, parking lots). and maintenance. On the other hand, using a bicycle(s) is cheaper, causes less emissions and stress, and is more affordable for the population in terms of income. After all, cars drive people out of cities, while bicycles bring cities back to life. They successfully faced the challenge in the capital city of Denmark, where today, in contrast to the 1970s, the streets are used almost exclusively by cyclists. The project addresses the comparative development issue of the implementation of sustainable daily transport to work and study in Slovenian cities, because public transport does not cover all the needs of daily transport. Therefore, the goal is to find out how to implement a sustainable way of transporting sample cities in Slovenia when using a bicycle for commuting.
