130 attendees on MIC 2024

Today, 6 June 2024, the 23rd International Scientific Conference MIC 2024 officially opened at the University of Trento under the theme Next Generation Challenges: Innovation, Regeneration and Inclusion.

The conference is attended by 130 participants from 20 different countries and 89 participants will present their contributions. In addition to the University of Trento, partners from the University of Trieste and the University of Pula have been involved in the organisation of this year's conference.

The participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Anita Trnavčević, the conference leader, followed by greetings from the representatives of the partner institutions, and an introductory plenary lecture by Prof. Dr. Lučka Kajfež Bogataj. In her very interesting presentation entitled The Significance of Planetary Boundaries in Shaping Global Governance and Sustainability, she pointed out that although our planet is beautiful, it has the defect that it is not growing and expanding. Economic and industrial growth is thirsty, so water scarcity is becoming a problem in developed countries too, and this is not just related to deserts.

Presentations of papers by session took place throughout the day, with 10 sessions on digitalisation, innovation, green transition, economics, education, sustainability, entrepreneurship, finance and management.
