From the very beginning, the Centre for Development and Knowledge Transfer (CRPZ) of the University of Primorska, Faculty of Management, has been proudly participating in the work of the Enterprise Europe Network - Slovenia, Europe's largest entrepreneurial support network, which this year also marks 15 years since its establishment. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Single European Market.

In this context, the CRPZ UP FM, together with its project partners the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, SPIRIT Slovenia, the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia, the University of Maribor, the Institute "Jožef Stefan" and the RRA Podravje - Maribor, participated in the internationally renowned MOS fair in Celje this year.

In addition to the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the EEN and the 30th anniversary of the EU Single Market, the event also included a panel on smart specialisation and smart factories, as well as B2B one-to-one business meetings for new business partnerships.

Representatives of 120 companies from 13 countries attended the 55th MOS and held more than 220 individual meetings. The event was organised for the 15th time by the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia, in partnership with the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism, and Sport, SPIRIT Slovenia, and Advantage Austria Ljubljana within the Enterprise Europe Network.

The event was aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups producing products and services and innovative solutions or technologies for Industry 4.0 (smart machines, robots, smart logistics, cybersecurity), digitalisation, automotive, metals, electricity and electronics, mobility, transport and logistics, research, development and technology transfer.

As usual, company representatives made good use of the opportunity to talk to potential business partners, network, and exchange experiences and good practices.

The organisers welcomed the participants to the business meeting. The President of the OZS, Mr. Blaž Cvar, expressed his satisfaction that the event had become recognised in the wider region and was of interest to many companies. "We are proud to be able to organise such an event and I assure you that we will continue to work with our partners to ensure that it continues to be attractive to domestic and foreign companies," added Mr. Cvar.

The meeting was officially opened by the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Matjaž Han, who emphasised that the international business meeting at the fair is an event that can convey the message to foreign countries that, despite the various crises and natural disasters that have affected us, the Slovenian economy is healthy, safe, functioning and ready for further cooperation.

An important part of each event, in addition to individual discussions, is a round table or panel, which this year focused on the urgency and challenges of the digital transformation of the Slovenian economy. The panel consisted of Dr. Igor Kovač from the Institute "Jožef Stefan", Marko Brodnjak, CEO of NLB, Matic Pirih from Business Solutions, and Metka and Tomaž Marovt from Marovt Company.

The speakers agreed that the digital transformation of the Slovenian economy is necessary, but pointed out that a successful transition cannot be achieved in one or two months, but is a long-distance race. The human factor must not be neglected in the process, because in the face of digitisation, automation, and robotisation, the so-called factories of the future are still based on humans. For the whole process of digital transformation to succeed, it has been said, that it is essential that people embrace change, but even before that, they need to understand it. The issue of cyber-security in modern businesses, energy self-sufficiency, and the competitiveness of the business environment were also touched upon.
