On Wednesday 3 May 2023, the UP Faculty of Management hosted Prof. dr. Susanne Pickel, Professor of Comparative Politics at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. 

In her lecture entitled Radicalisation of Muslims and non-Muslims in Germany, Prof. dr. Pickel from the University of Duisburg-Essen presented a wide-ranging and interrelated theoretical perspective on radicalisation and the results of research she and her research team had obtained on the subject for the Ministry of Science. She highlighted the high level of intolerance among Germans towards right-wing extremism, as well as towards the Muslim religious community (which is usually wrongly equated with extremist Islamism) and black people in general, as essential and at the same time requiring further attention, leading to the exclusion of all these groups from the democratic political community.

The lecture was part of the course "International Cultural and Political Environment".
