We are pleased to share with you the news that within the framework of the Public Tender for the selection of research projects of the Targeted Research Program "CRP 2023" in the year 2023, a targeted research project entitled »Performance of Slovenia in the macro-regional strategies of the European Union« was approved for (co)financing. The project leader is assist. prof. Andreja Pegan, UP FM. The research team of the project also includes assoc. prof. Ana Grdović Gnip, UPFM. 

The project explores the relationship of the macroregional strategies of the European Union with Slovenia's national development objectives ("Slovenia's Development Strategy 2030"). National development strategies are instruments for formulating long-term visions of socio-economic development. They guide and mobilise a country's strategic efforts in the pursuit of the set objectives. The European Union and its macroregional strategies can be a source of support for achieving national development objectives. The main research questions of the project are: What is the added value of macroregional strategies of the European Union for the achievement of Slovenia’s development goals? To what extent do macroregional strategies of the European Union emphasise thematic areas that support a competitive and socially responsible business and research sector?

The project will be implemented from October 1, 2023 to  September 30, 2024 and will be co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MZEZ) and the Slovenian Research And Innovation Agency (ARIS).

• targeted research project "Improving sustainable daily transport to work and study: Comparative analysis of best practices in the EU, plan for urban areas and beyond in Slovenia" led by Assoc. prof. Sergej Gričar, PhD. UNM Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences. The co-implementers of the project are UNM FEI and UP Faculty of Management Full prof. Stefan Bojnec, PhD.
• targeted research project "Analysis of student dropout in higher education: review of patterns and trends and proposal of measures to reduce it" led by Assoc. dr. Vesna Skrbinjek International Faculty of Social and Business Studies. Co-implementers of the project UP Faculty of Management Full prof. Dušan Lesjak, PhD., assistant professor Borut Kodrič, PhD.
