Participation in the IFRWH Conference 2024

As part of the promotion of the Faculty of Management, we attended the IFRWH - International Federation of Research in Wamen's History 2024 Conference.

The theme of the conference, which took place from 7 to 10 August in Tokyo, Japan, this year focused on major issues in women's history, such as gender equality, the gender division of labour, political participation, sexuality and the family and society. They talked about the changes in this area brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and the wars that have recently been ignited in our Middle East.

The questions they wished to answer and consider were:

  • How have the rise of populist nationalism and the social changes since 19 affected our understanding of women's history?
  • How have the rise of militarism, the threat of a new Cold War and the social changes since the Soviets affected our understanding of women's history?
  • How has the global resistance to gender equality changed our understanding of central issues in women's history?
  • How do advances in digital technologies such as artificial intelligence or Siri create and perpetuate gender biases?

On behalf of the Faculty of Management, Prof. Dr. Ajda Fošner attended the conference and presented a paper entitled

"Woman in STEM".
