UP, Fakulteta za management - ThinkXR project presented at local networking event

The University of Primorska (UP), the Centre for Knowledge Development and Transfer (CRPZ UP FM), and the Municipality of Koper (MOK) organised the event "Innovation and Dot" on World Science Day, Friday, 10 November 2023, with the aim of presenting the importance of innovation for research and development and highlighting the issues of how to innovatively and appropriately present the field of innovation.

The event brought together researchers from a wide range of fields at UP, the local community with a municipal perspective, and guests from business. This offered many opportunities for networking to develop new, common innovative ideas in the local, regional, and wider area.

The opening speeches and presentations were followed by a round table on different innovation success stories at UP, where representatives of UP members talked about their innovation activities (from pure technological innovations to social innovations). At the round table, representatives of the Faculty of Management UP, assistant Ph.D. Peter Štrukelj and lecturer Matevž Malej, presented the #ThinkXR project, in which FM UP is a partner in a broader project consortium, which includes not only Slovenian organisations but also the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Dr. Štrukelj outlined the reasons for the project's creation and the key project activities (e.g., XR Academy implementation, pilot XR classes in Slovenian schools, national XR partnership) that represent a form of social innovation. Matevž Malej highlighted the key challenges faced by the FM in implementing XR technologies in the pedagogical process.

The partners of the Think XR project invite you to an important event on December 6, 2023, starting at 16.30 at the UP Faculty of Management (Izolska vrata 2, Koper, Lecture Room 6), which will bring together experts, educational institutions, mentors, companies and thought leaders in the technology sector. The event will focus on the establishment of a strategic XR partnership that will act as a catalyst for the development of digital competences in Slovenia and beyond.

Experience with the Slovenian XR Academy
Results of the new high school XR mentors
Experience and perspective on XR education from a Norwegian partner university
Placement in the EU context and presentation of the national XR partnership
