Academic debate on reduced weekly working hours

We are proud to share the successful completion of a dynamic academic debate organized and delivered by our students on the topic: “The Macedonian government should introduce a 36-hour work week.”

The event highlighted the analytical strength, dedication, and collaborative spirit of our students: Antonio Naumcheski, Anastasija Naumcheska, Nikita Vajdeska, and Stefanija Sikijovska, who engaged in a thoughtful and well-structured discussion on one of today’s most relevant socio-economic issues. Through evidence-based arguments and critical evaluation, they explored the impact of working time on productivity, public health, and the future development of North Macedonia.

The debate provided an excellent platform for the application of academic knowledge in a real-world context, demonstrating high-level skills in research, argumentation, and public speaking. It also encouraged open dialogue and active participation, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering intellectual growth and civic engagement among its students.

We would like to express our special gratitude to Professor Peter Štrukelj, whose guidance, support, and encouragement made this event possible. Also, we would like to thank the student Roman Novokolsky, who was professionally chairing the debate.

We congratulate our students on their outstanding performance and thank everyone who contributed to making this event both insightful and inspiring.

As the future of work continues to evolve, one question remains: are we ready to rethink how much we work, or how well we work?
