On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the Association of Supervisors of Slovenia, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Slovenian Sovereign Holding, organized the traditional annual Meeting of Certified Supervisors, with a formal award ceremony for the recipients of the ZNS Certificates in 2024.

The event was also attended by Dr. Elizabeta Zirnstein, Associate Professor of Law at the UP Faculty of Management, as a guest at the roundtable on the challenges of worker participation in practice. This topic, although somewhat overlooked in corporate governance, holds great potential for improving employee satisfaction and enhancing the organizational efficiency of companies.

The event was attended by numerous distinguished business figures, including Žiga Debeljak (Chairman of SDH and member of several supervisory boards), Gorazd Podbevšek (Chairman of ZNS, member of the management board of Slovenske železnice, and member of several supervisory boards), Jože Colarič (CEO of Krka d.d.), Andrej Ribič (CEO of DARS and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eles), Mari Božič (member of the Supervisory Board of Krka d.d.), and Vojko Čok, former CEO of Banka Koper and Chairman of the Management Board of the University of Primorska.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elizabeta Zirnstein has been researching and professionally involved in the field of worker participation, one of the three pillars of economic democracy, for many years, making her one of Slovenia's key experts in this area. A significant recognition for her work in this field came two years ago when she was elected Secretary General of the Association of Worker Councils of Slovenia, the only organization in Slovenia that has been systematically, professionally, and in-depth dealing with the topic of worker participation in corporate governance for over thirty years.
