On May 8, 2025, the BRIDGE Conference took place at the Faculty of Management of the University of Primorska, focusing on connecting research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the era of green and digital transition. The event, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasna Auer Antončič, began with an opening address by Vice-Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Borut Kodrič, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and the business world.
In the keynote lecture, Prof. Dr. Simona Kustec, Head of the Center for Knowledge Development and Transfer at UP FM, discussed the role of the university as a bridge between knowledge and practical solutions for sustainable development. Leon Žunec presented the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program, which facilitates internationalization and experience exchange.
Particularly engaging were student presentations from the Problem-Based Learning project, where students explored real-world challenges of participating companies ATech (Fumis unit) and Intervela. In the segment on innovative business models, the students presented projects such as Vinora (products made from grape seeds), AquaSync (innovative hydration), MealMate (meal planning with reduced waste), and TechPillow (green technology for comfort).
In the section on successful entrepreneurial stories, the audience heard examples from start-ups, international companies, and socially responsible projects. The conference concluded with a networking session, encouraging further collaboration among participants.
The event highlighted how academic knowledge can drive innovative solutions for a sustainable future. BRIDGE Conference 2025 once again filled the faculty with energy, knowledge, and student-driven courage. Young people demonstrated their ability to tackle real business challenges—through research and a fresh perspective on economics, entrepreneurship, management, and innovation. The conference was rich with knowledge, connection, and inspiration, building bridges between theory and practice.
