As the leaders of Work Package 2, we are thrilled to share our latest findings from our collaborative research efforts. We have synthesized our insights into a joint report that highlights both the strengths and gaps in existing educational resources for second-hand ventures.
On the positive side, we found that essential topics such as general digital literacy, sustainability principles, foundational entrepreneurship, ESG compliance basics, and e-commerce fundamentals are well represented in available materials.
However, our analysis revealed a significant gaps: these resources often treat digital, green, and business competencies in isolation rather than as an integrated pathway tailored for the second-hand sector.
Additionally, we identified a lack of resources for the operational skills necessary for running second-hand businesses. Alarmingly, there is no training available on leveraging AI for circular tasks like inventory management, pricing strategies, or waste tracking. Moreover, many materials focus on providing information rather than fostering competencies, making it harder for learners to apply knowledge in real-world scenarios.
