he University of Primorska is extending the call for young researchers at the University of Primorska in 2024.
The University of Primorska is inviting applications for four vacancies in 2024 for young researchers to train as researchers and to pursue doctoral studies at UP, on the basis of a full-time employment contract for up to four years. Candidates must have completed a second-level degree programme within the last four years and have an average mark in all examinations and tutorials, including the Master's thesis, of at least 8. The call was published on 15 March 2024 and is extended until 10 July 2024.
Candidates may apply for training with the following mentors, in the following research fields and in the framework of UP's parent research programmes. One young researcher will be selected from each mentor:
- For UP FM: mentor Dr Aleksander Janeš, research area Administrative and Organisational Sciences, research programme P5-0049: Education and Employment Management in the Knowledge Society;
- For UP IAM: mentor ; Michel Lavrauw, research area Mathematics, research programme P5-0049: Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Probability Calculus and Game Theory;
- For UP FVZ: mentor Nejc Šarabon, research area Sport, research programme P5-0443: Kinesiology for performance and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries in sport.
Only one candidate can be selected per mentor. If there are several candidates, they will be ranked according to the total number of points they have achieved. The candidate with the highest aggregate score is selected. In the event of two candidates scoring the same number of points, preference will be given to the candidate from the under-represented gender in the specific research field, if the research field is characterised by a gender imbalance of researchers at UP (more than 60 %/40 % in favour of/to the detriment of one gender).
