Lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Larisa Gaiser at the Faculty of Management: Economic Intelligence Activity and Case Studies from Practice

Prof. Dr. Žiga Čepar hosted a lecture Assoc. Prof. Dr. Larisa Gaiser on February 26, 2025, as part of the first-year course "Economic Environment of the Company" in the Bachelor's degree program in Management.

Dr. Larisa Gaiser is an associate professor of macroeconomics and a lecturer in the fields of geopolitics and security studies at Slovenian and foreign universities. From 2012 to 2014, she was the vice president and acting president of the Mediterranean University EMUNI. As a consultant, she actively collaborated with various European governments and was appointed by the NATO Secretary General as the Chief Political Advisor to the Kosovo Force mission from October 2022 to October 2023.

The lecture, titled "Economic Intelligence Activity: Fundamentals and Case Studies," took place at the Faculty of Management on February 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The first part of the lecture presented the main elements of geo-economics and economic intelligence activities. In the second part, specific examples of the use of economic intelligence by foreign countries such as the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Russia, and China were presented.

       

The students' response to the lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Larisa Gaiser was extremely positive. Students expressed great interest in the topic, especially considering her wide range of practical experience and expertise.

As a faculty, we strive to ensure that our students gain valuable knowledge and advice directly from professionals in the field. By organizing such lectures, we aim to provide students with direct contact with experienced experts who can offer insight into the real-world challenges and opportunities they will face after graduation. Through this, we also aim to enrich our study process further, as we believe that connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experience is crucial for a successful transition of our students into the workforce.
