On Friday, 5 June, the conference programme continued with scientific paper presentations across various thematic sessions, where researchers from different countries presented their latest findings and exchanged perspectives on current issues in management, economics, sustainable development, digital transformation, and related disciplines. The discussions following the presentations fostered professional dialogue and provided opportunities for establishing new research collaborations among participants.
A key highlight of Friday’s programme was the keynote lecture delivered by Dr Damjan Kukovec, who offered an in-depth perspective on the future of the international economic order amid increasingly pronounced geopolitical disruptions. In his lecture, he addressed the major challenges facing contemporary global trade, the shifting balance among the world’s economic powers, and the importance of adapting legal and institutional frameworks to emerging realities. Particular attention was given to the role of the European Union and its judicial system in responding to the economic, political, and social changes shaping today’s international environment.
As part of the Meet the Editors event, participants had the opportunity to meet editors of the academic journals supporting the MIC Conference. The session provided valuable insights into the process of preparing, submitting, and publishing scientific articles, as well as the criteria editorial boards use when assessing the quality of submissions. The editors also discussed the most common challenges faced by authors and addressed current trends in academic publishing, including open access, the international visibility of research, and the impact of artificial intelligence on scholarly work. The event concluded with a lively discussion during which participants asked questions and shared their own experiences related to academic publishing.
The conference concluded on Saturday, 6 June, with a guided tour of Koper’s historic old town. The tour provided an enjoyable opportunity for informal networking, strengthening international connections, and bringing the conference to a close in a relaxed atmosphere.
The successful completion of the conference once again confirmed the importance of international academic cooperation and the exchange of knowledge among researchers and professionals from diverse fields.
