Prof. Dr. Štefan Bojnec participated in the Third Annual Meeting of KRPAN Consortium Partners in Maribor

The third annual meeting of KRPAN Consortium partners with the exchange of good practices took place on 20 March 2025 at the Rectorate of the University of Maribor. Prof. Dr. Štefan Bojnec participated in the event, namely in a panel discussion entitled: Gender equality and inclusion, challenges and opportunities in the Horizon Europe programme.

He spoke about experiences and good practices related to the implementation of the Gender Equality Plan (GEP) at the University of Primorska from 2021 for the period 2021-2027, with an update in 2024, and about the activities taking place within the framework of the Horizon AGRIGEP project for the participatory preparation of the new GEP. The questions and answers were also related to the implementation and completion of the Erasmus+ KA WEGREEN project, as well as the research and other activities of the inclusive university, and achievements related to gender equality in science and research in Slovenia and in the European Union, especially in the research projects of the Horizon Europe programme. Despite the uncertain cyclical changes in policy-making and public opinion on gender equality and the inclusive university at the global level, it is expected – also in light of the fact that in the last two years, the Nobel Prizes in Economics were awarded for the role of women and the role of the quality of institutions in economic development – that the process of the inclusive university, science and equal opportunities will continue in the future.
