Within the project, partners launched the second BIKE-HEI Innovation & Entrepreneurship Award 2026 competition, open to students, researchers, staff and alumni from all partner institutions. The four-member evaluation committee at the University of Primorska received three complete applications. The winning innovation was EMiFY Protection, developed by Lenart Tušar and Nejc Pisk.

Between May 12 - 13, 2026 in Horný Smokovec, High Tatras, Slovak Republic, was organised conference New Market Realities: Strategic Adaptation in Business and Sustainable Value Creation in the framework of the 19th International Scientific Days. https://isd2026.fem.uniag.sk/. The introductory Keynote Speakers was Prof. Dr. Štefan Bojnec from University of Primorska, Slovenia. The title of his plenary presentation was Farming Change, Climate Pressure, Policies and Food Security in Central and Eastern Europe

A roundtable discussion titled Collaboration in Innovation and Entrepreneurship took place on Tuesday, April 21, at the Faculty of Management of the University of Primorska. The event was organized as part of Sustainability Week and under the BIKE-HEI project. It brought together representatives from academia, business, and public administration to reflect on past achievements and explore future opportunities for strengthening cooperation in developing the region’s entrepreneurial and innovation potential.

Following the successful first round of BIKE-HEI trainings, which enhanced the knowledge and competences of more than 380 students and over 100 university staff members, we are pleased to announce the launch of the second training cycle. Gender equality has become one of the guiding principles of numerous institutions, which have adopted internal plans on how best to achieve it. In Germany, this inequality is most evident in the pay gap, where women still earn on average 16% less than men. This difference is highlighted annually by Equal Pay Day, which marks how many days of the year women work for free.

As the leaders of Work Package 2, we are thrilled to share our latest findings from our collaborative research efforts. We have synthesized our insights into a joint report that highlights both the strengths and gaps in existing educational resources for second-hand ventures.

Between 26 and 28 November 2025, the University of Primorska, Faculty of Management (UP FM), was visited by Dr. Bojan Pejović from the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro (FE UM) in Podgorica as part of a bilateral project between Slovenia (UP FM and University of Novo Mesto) and Montenegro (FE UM).
