The lecture on the labor market and the role of the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia

On Monday, January 13. 2025, an interesting and educational lecture took place at our faculty for third-year undergraduate students on the topic of the labor market and the role of the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia. Prof. Dr. Simona Kustec hosted Mr. Vladimir Popovič, the head of the Regional Office of the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia in Koper.

The guest from practice presented key information about the labor market, the organization of the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia, and current staffing needs in the region and the country. He explained how the Employment Service helps job seekers find suitable opportunities, how the connection between job seekers and employers takes place through various programs and services, and through describing his personal career path, he encouraged students to search for their first job.

Students learned about the opportunities offered by the Employment Service's online portal, how counseling works, and how to apply for job openings. The meeting was very active and participatory, as numerous questions arose regarding job searching and the support options offered by the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia. Students realized the importance of having support when looking for employment, which the Employment Service provides through counseling, useful information, and many other services.

The lecture was extremely useful and inspiring, as it allowed students to better understand the dynamics of the labor market and the importance of institutional support at the beginning of their careers.
